GlideRead Help

A few useful details, so you can get back to reading.

Supports desktop Chrome/Edge 120+ and Firefox 140+. Private windows are not supported. Site compatibility depends on page structure and access restrictions.

Getting started and continuous reading

On an HTTP/HTTPS novel chapter page, click the extension icon, choose “Open current page”, and grant access to the current site. You can then open the reader using the site’s “GlideRead · Read” floating button. The next chapter from the same origin loads automatically near the bottom. If loading fails, retry or open the original page to handle verification.

Continuous comic reading

Open the reader on a comic chapter. The extension recommends a reading type; choose novels, comics or automatic detection in Reading settings and remember the choice per site. Comics appear in a vertical image stream, joining split pages within an episode and continuing to the next episode as you read. Adjust comic width separately, click an image to enlarge it, and resume within an image. Retry failed images in place. A failed page stops continuation rather than skipping missing pages. Correct the image region and next-page or next-episode link when needed. Only pages with accessible image addresses are supported; Canvas reconstruction, encrypted image assembly and login, paywall or verification bypass are not provided.

Detection and replacements

If detection is incorrect, use the correction tool to select the chapter text and next-chapter link. Text replacements support global and current-site rules, which you can edit, preview, save, disable or delete. Preview first when possible. If a complex regular expression times out, the original text is kept and you are prompted to adjust the rules.

Reading history

Opening from a site chapter always uses the current page; position is restored only for the same chapter. Clicking a record in “Recent reading” opens a new tab to resume the saved chapter. Delete individual records or clear the entire history.

Permissions and feedback

Use “Site permissions and detection rules” in the popup to manage or revoke permissions. Revoked sites require permission again before the extension can run. Send feedback through the support channel listed on the official store page, including browser version, extension version, steps to reproduce and a public page address. You do not need to share your full reading history, account, cookies or private chapter text.
